History

Chanel, a name recognized around the world. Responsible for the main changes in women's fashion in the 20th century, Mademoiselle Coco Chanel, one of the forces of the feminist movement of the century, created a fashion, timeless and elegant, coveted to this day , which is synonymous with elegance and refinement. Everything the brand launches is always a trend. Coco was born in the French countryside and worked as a counter worker in a fabric store, where she learned to handle needles to perfection, and in a cabaret, where she sang " Qui qu'a vu Coco dans le Trocadero ", responsible for her nickname. In 1909 she opened her first store, Chanel Modes, in Paris. The simple and unadorned style enchanted the Parisians - "Who is that woman who dares in simple clothes, with feminine and masculine touches?". It was in 1921 that she settled at the iconic 31, Rue de Cambon, where Maison Chanel remains to this day. Back in the 20s, she was the first stylist to launch a perfume. Currently, one of the brand's greatest successes is the Les Exclusifs collection, which recreates the fragrances created by Ernest Beaux, now signed by Jacques Polge. |
