Gianni Versace was born in Italy in 1946. Versace inherited the talent of his mother, Francesca, who ran a sewing studio. He worked and learned with her, designing the models. At age 25, he received an order for a collection, to be produced in Milan The result was a success.Versace moved to Milan and orders multiplied.In 1978 he founded the Versace Company with his brothers Santo and Donatella.The style was unmistakable with vibrant colors and bright fabrics with a combination of leather and silk , embroideries and prints, metals and plastics.In the 1980s, its striking fashion and distinguished cut won over artists, celebrities and even princesses.
In 1997 the genius of creativity and fashion was assassinated in Miami by Andrew Cunanan, a gigolo fanatic for notoriety. With the death of Gianni Donatella Versace inherited his brother's fashion empire, innovating and conquering with accessories, perfumes, watches and jewelry, including home decor.
