History

It all starts in 1907 when Eugène Schueller, a young French chemical engineer, developed a new synthetic hair dye formula in the kitchen of his small apartment. Later in 1909 he expanded his business and registered the company with the name Société Française de Teintures Inoffensives by Cheveux which would later be called L'Oréal, and began to manufacture hair dyes, which were sold to the most posh and Paris' sophisticated hairdressing salons.
