History

It all starts with the stylist Kenzo Takada, who was born in the city of Himeji and as a child watched numerous fashion magazines with his older sisters and started designing and making clothes for dolls. He later majored in arts and began his career as a stylist designing patterns for a Tokyo magazine. In 1964, he moved to the city of Paris, where he intended to spend only six months to watch shows, learn about French fashion and lifestyle, and after five months, he wanted to stay longer and started looking for a job. In five days, the young and talented stylist found work, and for the remainder of the decade, he created numerous collections as a freelancer. It was then that, in 1970, the talented stylist decided to go solo, held his first fashion show at Galeria Vivienne, where he soon opened his own store.
